iBasso DX320 Review

3…2…1…here we go, let us review the iBasso DX320, the big brother to the iBasso to the DX240. In this review, we will expand on the iBasso DX320, a powerhouse of a DAP. The iBasso DX320 competes with the larger DAPs, housing a 6.5” IPS full screen (2340*1080) and 162mm*77mm*17mm. While the DX320 is one of the larger DAPs, it is never too cumbersome to use. And finally, let’s see if the DX320 is worthy of the iBasso name!

The Build

The DX 320 is built like a tank, for lack of words! We will start with the beautiful aluminum body for the DX320, available in either black or blue mist and pristinely finished. Edges are flat; corners are graced with rounded corners. The right side is ever so slightly angled to the body for ergonomics

On the right side, going top to bottom, we have the combination volume wheel/power button, forward button, play/pause, and back button. The forward and back buttons may be switched in settings should you desire.

A minor complaint is the power/volume wheel. It would be nice if there were ever more travel, as you may not know if functions are registered at times.

The primary function keys, back, play/pause, and forward, are nice and crisp.

Up top, we have the USB-C port that is used to charge and transfer data via USB 3. Additionally, a 3.5mm port for Coaxial output supports PCM 384 and DoP 128.

On the left side of the iBasso, there is a port for a Micro SD card supporting up to 2 Gb.

Continuing around the DX320 to the bottom is the heart of the DAP, the AMP. As other iBasso DAPs have, the DX320 also uses interchangeable AMP modules. Stock the iBasso DX320 uses the AMP11 MKIIs, a refinement of the original AMP11.

With the current firmware for the DX320, battery life is quite remarkable. We will talk more about this in the listening section.

Power is phenomenal with the stock amp, 3.5vRMS on the 3.5mm, or 7.1v with the 2.5/4.4mm. Again, for a stock amp, this is quite impressive.

The DX320 uses WiFi: 802.11b/g/n/ac (2.4Ghz/5Ghz) 2x2 MIMO. As such, WiFi performance is fantastic. Fast downloads and streaming applications are ultra-responsive.

Performance of applications is quick and responsive due to the 6 Gb of RAM and 128 Gb of onboard storage.

Battery management is quite interesting, as there are two separate used for the Analog and Digital stages. The iBasso DX320 uses both QC3 and PD3.0, with the proper charger and current firmware.

The Snapdragon 660 SoC 8 Core CPU takes care of processing power and is a beast!

With this, the DX320 is lightning quick and able to do MQA, DSD, and almost any audio file type, and it never seems slow.

The Setup

Let’s begin with turning on the DX320 by holding the side power button on the right for approximately five to ten seconds to the device on.

Let the DX320 go through the first boot sequence, and you will be presented with a welcome screen. But, first, choose the language that suits you.

Next, follow the menus, and setting up WiFi is a breeze! The iBasso DX320 uses WiFi: 802.11b/g/n/ac (2.4Ghz/5Ghz) 2x2 MIMO for ultra fast conntion and distance.

Once finished, you will be greeted by a “Setup is Complete” screen.
